Better Knee TM Flexion
The Better Knee™ Flexion device effectively treats loss in a patient’s range of motion, reducing stiffness and mitigating against arthrofibrosis. Other systems have done something similar for years, but the Better Knee™ technology is highly effective and far less expensive. Patients experiencing loss of motion in their knees want desperately to return to full or nearly full movement and regain freedom of motion.
Persistent knee stiffness is common after Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA), ligament repairs, and other forms of trauma. Stiffness following TKA is common in 5% to 30% of patients. Furthermore, it accounts for 28% of hospital readmissions due to surgical complications within 90 days of discharge and 10% of all revisions within five years of initial surgery.
This stiffness is often the result of arthrofibrosis, a fibrotic joint disorder characterized by excessive collagen production and adhesions. Noticeable or not, arthrofibrosis restricts Range of Motion (ROM) and often leads to pain, edema, muscle weakness, and can even lead to functional disability. In some cases, patients with arthrofibrosis lose their ability to perform the basic activities of daily living and suffer from chronic knee pain, severely impairing their quality of life.
Better Knee™ is a Static Progressive Stretch (SPS) device designed to treat range-of-motion loss in knees. It is effective in treating TKA, arthrofibrosis, and cruciate ligament repairs.
